Bangkok  - Thai Airways International (THAI) will shift all its domestic flights from Don Mueang Airport to Suvarnabhumi International Airport over the weekend, the national carrier confirmed Friday.

"THAI will shift 23 domestic flights back from Don Mueang Airport, Bangkok's former main airport, to Suvarnabhumi Airport on March 29, 2009, making a total of approximately 45 domestic round flights operated to/from Suvarnabhumi Airport," THAI Senior Executive Vice President Air Chief Marshal Narongsak Sangapong said.

Bangkok - The birth this week of two clouded leopard cubs at the National Zoo in Washington has vindicated a Thailand-based project to raise the endangered cats as lovers from birth, a project manager said Thursday.

The Thailand-born female clouded leopard named Jao Chu gave birth Tuesday to two cubs at the US zoo's Conservation and Research Center.

It was the first births of clouded leopard cubs for the National Zoo in 16 years and the first in any North American zoo in six years.

Bangkok  - Thousands of so-called Red Shirts - supporters of fugitive former premier Thakisn Shinawatra - marched on Government House in Bangkok Thursday in an effort to force the current administration from office.

As estimated 30,000 protestors left Sanam Luang, the Royal Grounds, a traditional launchpad for anti-government demonstrations, and marched towards Government House - the seat of the current cabinet led by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

Bangkok - Thailand agreed Wednesday to repatriate 5,400 ethnic Hmong living in a Thai refugee camp since 2004 to neighbouring Laos within the year, state media reports said.

Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya told a press conference in Luang Prabang, Laos' ancient capital, that Thailand would pay 1.5 million baht (42,860 dollars) to the Lao government to help finance buildings at a village outside the current capital of Vientiane to receive the repatriated Hmong, the Thai News Agency reported.

Bangkok - China's Chery Automobile on Wednesday used the annual Bangkok International Motor Show to launch two new passenger car models on the Thai market, despite a gloomy outlook for automobile sales this year.

"We hope to sell about 4,000 to 5,000 units this year, capturing about 1 per cent of the Thai market," said Vithit Leenutaphong, president of the Thai Chery Yarnyon Company, the local distributor of Chinese-made Chery models.

Pattani, Thailand - The military on Wednesday deployed hundreds of soldiers and police to capture a suspected key leader of the separatist insurgency in southern Thailand.

The operation to capture Masoleh Dellamah was launched on the outskirts of Pattani, 680 kilometres south of Bangkok, but after a clash, Masoleh and his followers managed to escape into a nearby jungle, authorities said.

Reinforcements and helicopters were called in to help track down the insurgents.
