Regular Exercise, Green Tea – A Perfect Medicine for Breast Cancer Blues
A new research reveals that regular exercise and drinking green tea may help prevent, and even fight, depression among breast cancer patients.
A recent study showed that 36 percent of 183 women, who consumed green tea, witnessed lower depression risk, cited a study that appeared in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
However, lead researcher Dr. Xiao Ou Shu, at Vanderbilt University Medical Centre, in Nashville, Tennessee, has warned against overdose.
The study initiated by the research team involved the analysis of depression-related factors in 1,399 Chinese women who were 54 years old on average and treated for breast cancer in Shanghai, China between April 2002 and December 2006.
The ones who resorted to exercise were revealed to be about 20 percent less vulnerable to either mildly or clinically depressed.
In addition, the figures cite that nearly 62% of the women reported varied advantages after undergoing exercise, reports China Daily.
Moreover, the likelihood of depression was 28 percent less among women who exercised for above 2 hours a week and 42 percent lower among those who increased their post-diagnosis exercise time.
