Samsung Electronics has announced to launch its new Android based mobile Galaxy U

Samsung-Glaxay-uA new Android handset Galaxy U (SHW-M130L) is all set to launch by Samsung Electronics in their home country South Korea by the end of this week. Samsung has announced its features and capabilities officially and it is expected that it supports wireless carrier LG u+.

Galaxy U will be available in two colours, black and white and the price tagged with the device is Rs 80,000 i.e. $682.

Talking about its specifications, it has 1GHz S5PC111 processor with Samsung preloaded on it, which is friendly to work with Google's Android 2.1 OS.

The device has 3.7 inch AMOLED plus touchscreen with a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels and 16M colours. It is also loaded with 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and 720p HD video recording features.

Samsung has named this device as Galaxy U because of its uniqueness in design, its ultimate display, its utilitarian apps and ubiquitous features, support for J-CDMA, CDMA Rev.

In terms of connectivity it supports Wi-fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Moreover it also supports multimedia features like MP, 3GP, 3GPP, K3G, Divx, Avi, Mkv, flv, asf video formats and for MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG, AAC, MID, MIDI, FLAC audio files.

The device has an expandable memory up to 32GB in addition to its internal memory through micro SD cards. The device includes 8GB card in the box. It also features T-DMB.

Other specifications like 1500mAh battery which offers 7 hours of talk time or up to 370 hours of standby time, access to Google services, support OZ store, Kyobo e-book, Daum maps, Allshare, Live wallpapers.

As far as its physical appearance is concerned its measurements are 119.5 X 59.6 X 12.4 mm and weigh around 131g.
