Sergio Araujo's equalizer helps Las Palmas hold Real to La Liga draw

Las Palmas [Spain], Sept. 25 : Forward Sergio Araujo popped up with the late equalizer as Real Madrid were held to a 2-2 draw against Las Palmas in their sixth La Liga clash here in Gran Canaria on Sunday.

Midfielder Marco Asensio put Zinedine Zidane's side ahead in the 33rd minute of the match before the home side levelled the score via Pedro Taunausu just five minutes later, goal.com reports.

Striker Karim Benzama, who came as a substitute for Marco Asensio, then struck his second goal of the season from close range in the 67th minute to put Real in lead once again.

However, late substitute Araujo scored a dramatic equaliser just five minutes prior to the full time to earn Las Palmas a point and restrict Madrid to a second La Liga draw in four days.

With the draw, Real are left with just one-point lead over Barcelona at the top of the standings.

The Zidane-led side will next lock horns with Eibar on October 2.(ANI)
