Seven more detained in Assam Blast case

The Assam police has detained seven more persons from lower Assam's Nalbari district in connection with the serial blast.

They were being brought to Guwahati for interrogation.

Police picked up them on the leads thrown up by the Maurti cars. Maruti cars were used to trigger blasts across Assam. Two of those cars were sold at New Delhi and Itanagar, informed a police official.

Meanwhile investigation revealed that the number plate used on the cars were fake.

Earlier the police had arrested five persons including — two in Nagaon, one in the city and two in Lakhmipur district.

The serial blast that devastated Assam on 30 October, took 81 lives and injured 826 people.
