Songwriter Vic Mizzy dies

Songwriter Vic Mizzy diesNew York  - Songwriter Vic Mizzy, who famously penned the theme tune for the Addams Family sitcom, has died at age 93, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

Mizzy, whose other tunes included the theme track for Green Acres, Pretty Kitty Blie Eyes, and The Whole World Is Singing My Song, also wrote a song for Spiderman 2, which ended up on the DVD version of the movie.

Mizzy owned the rights tot the Addams Family song, which was characterized by prominent finger snaps and quirky lyrics. He once said he never minded being best known for that song as it "bought me a Bel Air mansion." (dpa)
