Strong quake rocks Indonesia's Sulawesi island
Jakarta - A magnitude-6.1 earthquake rocked Indonesia's Sulawesi island on Friday, the United States Geological Survey said.
The quake struck at 2:33 am (1833 GMT Thursday) at a depth 10 kilometres, the USGS said. Its epicentre was located 216 kilometres north-east of Baubau town in South-East Sulawesi province, the USGS said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
A magnitude-7.6 earthquake struck Indonesia's West Sumatra province on September 30, leaving 1,117 people dead and more than 100,000 buildings severely damaged or destroyed. (dpa)
