Students learn and enjoy at Quasar '09

Over 150 teams from various institutes are participating in Quasar, an inter-collegiate art and design festival organised by MIT Institute of Design which started on Sunday. It will conclude on February 27.

Students from city institutes like Fergusson College, Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, Film and Television Institute of India and Symbiosis Institute of Design are participating in the contest.

The first day started with events HELLter Skelter, Mast 'n' Messy, Pictionary and Graf-foot-i. In HELLter Skelter the participants had to race against time in situations least expected. Mast 'n' Messy was also interesting.

In Pictionary, the teams had to convey words with the help of drawings and sketches which led to confusion and fun.

Graf-foot-i, sponsored by Converse, also received an overwhelming response. Artistically inclined students came up with various designs for shoes in the contest.

Typography 2009, a two-day national level typography summit started on Monday. It has been organised by MIT Institute of Design and Industrial Design Centre (IDC), IIT Powai. Director of Script Research Institute Mukund Gokhale was the chief guest. An exhibition of students' work was held.
