Suzlon Energy gets fresh wind on its sagging sales
Suzlon Energy based in Pune is the third-largest wind turbine maker in the world. It emerged from the red in Q4 of FY11, and is currently aiming to bring up its net sales by approximately 44% to Rs 24, 000-26,000 crore in FY11.
A recovery in the developing markets has given fresh wind into the sagging sales of Suzlon. According to the chief financial officer of Suzlon, Robin Banerjee, their incomes amounted to approximately Rs18, 000 crore for the fiscal year 2011, and that they are aiming for their growth within this range in the upcoming fiscal. This was told to the reporters by Banerjee in Mumbai last Saturday.
Suzlon has been registering losses for successive quarters for a long time now since December 2009, and it came back to making profits in the quarter ended March having a total gain worth Rs 431.59 crore, as compared to the Rs 188.66 crore worth loss during the same period back in 2010. Meanwhile, the consolidated revenue for the same quarter went up by 20% up to Rs 7,276.02 crore.
Banerjee further said that they expected the sales growth to emerge particularly from India, developing markets as well as from offshore business in 2012.
