Ballmer hints of Microsoft-Yahoo pact against Google

Steve BallmerSan Francisco  - Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said Tuesday that he still wanted to form an alliance with Yahoo to combat the dominance of Google in search advertising.

But in his annual forecast to financial analysts of Microsoft's plans for the year, he ruled out any revival of last year's aborted deal to purchase Yahoo.

Ballmer also predicted that Microsoft would face more competition from Google and Apple in the market for computer software. He said that Google's Android operating systems for mobile phones would be converted for use in laptops.

The report published in the paper said that the online bazaar would be for phones running Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system.

It said, “Microsoft will also soon offer its latest version of Windows Mobile, which the report said would have a more sophisticated interface.”

Four security patches to be released by MicrosoftFour security updates, including two that would critically affecting Windows, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Exchange Server would be released by Microsoft on Tuesday. The company announced this on Thursday.

According to the company, "The critical updates affect Windows Internet Explorer 7, Windows XP Professional Edition, Windows Vista, Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2007."

Microsoft may soon launch its own smartphonesThe rumors are floating all around as of now is that Microsoft will release its own smartphones. It is being predicted by one analyst that the device may be revealed at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in two weeks.

In a report written by Doug Freedman of Broadpoint AmTech on Thursday, confirmed, "The Microsoft-branded phone may include Nvidia's Tegra processor and a telecommunications baseband chip from Qualcomm."
