Get ready for new HTC Magic At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona today, HTC and Vodafone announced the second major Google Android phone and the audience even were able to receive a demo of the HTC Magic.

The new phone dubbed as Magic has a 3.2-inch, 320-by-480 screen, and is all-touch-screen device with a track ball similar to the one on the T-Mobile G1, the first Android phone. The phone also features a 3.2-megapixel camera, a built-in compass and GPS.

If adhered to HTC, "The Magic runs on a 528-MHz Qualcomm processor, has 3G and Wi-Fi, and its 3G radio absolutely, and positively does not work at all in North America."

LG launches new Symbian Handset KT770Leading electronic equipment manufacturer, LG Electronics, announced to launch a new Handset KT770, company's fourth S60 on Symbian device, at the Mobile World Congress. The new product runs on Symbian OS 9.4, representing S60 5th Edition on Symbian operating system with a slider form factor and a numeric keypad.

Its other features include highly efficient 5-megapixel camera, 2.8-inch touch screen, Wi-Fi facility and HSDPA connectivity to offer high speed data transfer.

It would be nice to know that both the sets run Windows Mobile and will be upgradable to Windows Mobile 6.5.

The unique TouchFLO 3D interface by HTC is used as an overlay on both handsets to Windows Mobile 6.1.

Tegra running Android demoed by Nvidia It has come to light that Nvidia is working with Google on Android phones as it turns off its Windows-Mobile-only strategy.

An announcement was made at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona by Nvidia that with the aim to get its Tegra processor into Android phones, it has started working with Google and the Open Handset Alliance. Basically, Tegra is a system-on-a-chip, which integrates an ARM applications processor and Nvidia's GeForce graphics silicon, among other functions. The motive is to bring vigorous PC-like graphics to small devices.

First Android smartphone unveiled by Huawei At the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Chinese telecommunications company Huawei made announcement regarding its maiden Android-powered smartphone, which it would make commercially available in the Q3 2009.

HTC would be joined by Huawei in the Android operating system camp with a real production phone. Other than this, even Motorola and Kogan would join HTC, who have announced plans to ship devices running Google's operating system.
