Motorola To Launch Android-Based Phone By 2009Motorola Incorporated recently announced that they would launch their initial phone based on Google’s Android operating system by the coming year (2009).

However, the company is not doing so well at present, since it has lately been confronting several financial matters, which have arisen from both the US financial crisis and some internal organizational troubles.

The company’s quarterly report disclosed that the sales in their wireless division had descended by 31%, reaching revenue of only $3.1 billion.

Computer scientists crack Internet security of the future

Washington, November 1 : Dutch researchers have shown that the so-called McEliece encryption system, a candidate for the security of Internet traffic in the age of the quantum computer in future, is not devoid of vulnerabilities.

Computer scientists at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in The Netherlands said that they had managed to crack the system.

Tanja Lange, a professor at the university, revealed that the attack succeeded this month by means of a large number of linked computers throughout the world.

Prior to this work, she and her PhD student Christiane Peters had announced the discovery of a way to speed up attacks against the 30-year-old McEliece cryptosystem earlier this year.

Tivo, Netflix in partnership on Web streaming With the aim to further provide Netflix's Web streaming service directly to televisions through many devices, on Wednesday, Netflix Inc. said that it has entered a deal with TiVo Inc. 

Though the full terms of the deal were not disclosed, under this deal, Netflix needs to provide subscribers of its online DVD rental service, and 800,000 broadband-connected Tivo subscribers, with the facility to stream movies and TV episodes from Netflix's "Watch Instantly", free of charge.
