Tiger Woods becomes father to second child

Tiger Woods becomes father to second child Washington - The family of world number one golfer Tiger Woods has grown with the birth of the sportsman's second child and first son, the player said on his website Monday.

Charlie Axel Woods was born Sunday. He is the brother of Sam Alexis, who was born in June 2007.

Woods said he was "thrilled" over the birth of his son, and noted that both the baby and his wife, Elin, "are doing great."

The winner of 14 Grand Slam tournaments said he is looking forward to introducing Charlie to his followers, but noted that would happen "at the appropriate time."

Woods, 33, is currently in the last stage of his recovery following knee surgery some eight months ago. In his most recent tournament, the US Open in June, he walked away with the trophy despite already suffering from problems that were to lead to surgery. He is set to return to golf later this month.
