Tina Ambani denies any role in Reliance ADAG’ affairs
Tina Ambani, wife of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) Chairman Anil Ambani, on Friday appeared before a special CBI court as a prosecution witnesses in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case and claimed that she played no role in Reliance ADAG' affairs.
The CBI alleges that Reliance ADAG created a shell company called Swan Telecom and acquired 2G spectrum indirectly through the shell company for which it was not eligible.
In the court, presided by Judge OP Saini, Mrs. Ambani was shown documents of Reliance ADAG' various associate firms, including Swan Telecom, but she denied knowledge of any of them.
When asked about what she knew about the company's affairs, Mrs. Ambani said, "I have no role in Reliance ADAG as I am a housewife, run a hospital. I have never been associated with any Reliance ADAG company."
Mrs. Ambani, 55, appeared in the court a day after her husband Anil Ambani deposed before the court and denied any knowledge about Swan Telecom.
Mr. and Mrs. Ambani deposed before the special CBI court after the court on Wednesday dismissed their plea seeking postponement of their summoning schedule. A day earlier, the Supreme Court refrained from passing a stay against the trial court's direction summoning the couple in the case.
