Typhoon Ketsana causes flooding in southern Laos
Bangkok - Typhoon Ketsana caused widespread flooding in Laos' southern provinces of Xiangkong and Saravane, although no casualties were reported, Radio Vientiane said Wednesday.
"At least 12 hamlets were inundated in Xiangkhong, forcing villagers to take refuge on the roofs of their houses," the state radio said in a broadcast monitored in Bangkok.
In Saravane province knee-deep floodwaters were reported in the main towns. No deaths were reported.
Ketsana killed some 246 people in the Philippines, 17 in Vietnam and 11 in Cambodia. (dpa)
