UK and India to augment mutual investments
The Indian deputation was headed by Minister for Commerce and Industry, Anand Sharma, whereas the UK was headed by Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills, UK, Vincent Cable.
The conferences observed both the Government and the industry teaming up and have beneficial planning in the four similar meetings of the Joint Working Groups on the subjects of superior engineering and manufacturing, investment, innovation and logistics, education and skills development.
Prior, in a two-pronged discussion amid Sharma Minister and Vincent Cable, both of the parties had talked about the matters of mutual support, market entry issues for goods and services.
Together the Ministers reiterated their promise of augmenting FDI flows and making sure of a steady atmosphere for investors. India-UK JETCO was set up on Jan 13, 2005, further to build up a planned economic association trailing the Joint Announcement 'India-UK in the direction of latest and dynamic affiliation' amongst the Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh and Tony Blair during 2004.
