The defending champions Western air Command (WAC) has once again dominated the Air Force Hockey Championship, and won the title for the third consecutive time after defeating South-Western Air command in the final match at the Sector 42 Sports Complex, Sector 42 in Chandigarh yesterday.
WAC registered win in the sudden-death round as the match was held at 3-3 draw in the scheduled full time, and WAC emerged victorious with an aggregate 7-4 after the tie-breaker.
M Kanaujia scored two goals while Sgt Manish sent the ball in the nets for one time for SWAC and LAC Brar, Sgt Prabhakaran and Cpl Sukhwinder scored one goal each for WAC.
Ajith, N K Sahoo, K Kujur, Kuldeep, A C Manish, SS Sharma, Harish, Sameer, Nadeem, Ramrajan, Arun,Minhas, M Singh, Billu , Devpoora, M K singh ,V K Mishra were among the players who were selected for the Air Force team on the basis of their brilliant performance.
Lac Ramaraju of WAC was declared the player of the tournament for his standout performance in the tournament.
