Wal-Mart eyeing to ramp up sourcing from IndiaThe world's largest company is planning to export products from the Indian market. The Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is looking forward to make India a major sourcing hub for its overseas retailing. India is the most emerging market and has huge potential so far as retail is concerned.

Walmart also believes that India is having a significant market for retail. Hence world's largest retailer wants to export products worth "hundreds of millions of dollars" from the country. This has been informed by Scott Price, the chief executive of Wal-Mart Inc., Asian operations.

The US retail giant has joined hands with the leading Indian Inc. Bharti Enterprises Ltd. to come up with modern retail outlets throughout the country. Bharti Wal-Mart Pvt. Ltd. opened its second wholesale store at Chandigarh today.

Moreover, Price has also said about the recent FDI dilemma of the Indian Government. He is also anticipating the Govt. to allow foreign direct investment, or FDI in multi-brand retail soon. As per him foreign direct investment will undoubtedly help to the sector to rumble.
