Weaker yen, Wall Street rise help Tokyo stocks up

Weaker yen, Wall Street rise help Tokyo stocks up Tokyo (dpa) - Tokyo stocks ended Monday morning trading higher as
investors bought export-oriented issues on the weaker yen and Wall
Street's rises before the weekend.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average inched up 82.78 points, or 1.02 per cent, to 8,159.4.

The broader Topix index of all first section issues was also up 1.61 points, or 0.2 per cent, at 792.45.

On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar traded at 92.05-10 yen, up rom Friday's 5 pm quote of 90.92-93 yen.

The euro traded at 1.2960-65 dollars, up from Friday's 5 pm
quote of 1.2766-67 dollars, and at 119.35-40 yen, up from 116.07-11
