Witherspoon joins campaign to end domestic violenceWashington, Mar 5 : Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon is heading a new campaign to end violence against women.

The Walk The Line star, who's a global ambassador for cosmetics brand Avon and an honorary chairperson of the Avon Foundation for Women, is urging people to support the drive by purchasing the Avon Women''s Empowerment Necklace, worth 5 dollars.

All the money from the jewellery sales will be donated to domestic violence programmes.

"Nearly a billion women worldwide are affected by violence," Contactmusic quoted her Witherspoon as saying.

"The Empowerment Necklace is an easy way for all women to take action and demonstrate solidarity to reduce the worldwide epidemic of violence against women," she added. (ANI)
