Woman who blew lid on Woods' affairs now regrets

tiger-woodsLondon, Jan 4 : Ashley Samson, the woman who revealed fallen golfer Tiger Woods' affair with club hostess Rachel Uchitel, claims she was offered more than 150,000 pounds by the sports star's agents to stay mum. She now regrets the mess she has created, reports The Sun.

Samson says she wished she had taken the "hush money", reports the newspaper's website thesun. co. uk. "It probably would have been better as what ended up happening was a big mess," she said.

Samson's claim that Uchitel was having an affair with Woods is said to have sparked his row with model wife Elin and subsequent car crash on Nov 27. She said she became aware of the affair while on holiday with Uchitel in Marbella, Spain.

"She was on her phone with Tiger 24X7. My reaction was, 'I can't believe this'," she said.

Uchitel on the other hand has denied an affair with Woods who as of now has taken an indefinite break from golf.

But European Ryder Cup captain Colin Monty Montgomerie is confident Woods will return to golf. He believes the world No. 1 may struggle to regain the iconic status he had before the lurid allegations about his private life.

"That mystique has gone. He will come back, but as that iconic player, I'm not so sure. He's disproved everybody so far so no doubt he will come back, win more Majors and be out to prove to everybody that he can still do it under extreme pressure," he said.

"It's a shame and a pity this has happened. You just hope things sort themselves out and he gets back to playing and winning," he added.(IANS)
