Yes Bank books 76% growth in Q2 net profitYes Bank, leading private sector lender, has reported handsome growth of 75.6% in its net profit for the second three month period ended September 30, 2009.

During the reporting quarter, company’s net profit figure stood at Rs 111.71 crore.

In a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), representatives of Yes Bank stated that the lender has registered a net profit of Rs 63.62 crore in the September quarter of Financial Year 2009.

Bank’s total income in the said quarter increased to Rs 678.49 crore as compared to Rs 569.93 crore during similar period a year-ago.

During the quarter under review, bank's interest income also surged by 7.61% to Rs 526.91 crore, while the interest expenses have witnessed a downward trend to Rs 366.96 crore compared to the similar period last year.

Stock of Yes Bank ended the day in red at Rs 244, down 3.82% on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
