Cama Motors to make available pre-owned luxury cars in Gujarat

Cama Motors plans to foray into used car segment by offering pre-owned premium brands with discount in Gujarat by the end of April. Apart from that, it will also start a workshop for repair and maintenance of all the leading luxury cars. In the first year of operations, the company targets sales of around 100 used premium cars in the state and will make the service available in Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat in the initial stage.

"With rapid industrialisation and high disposable income, there is a trend among the people of Gujarat to own a premium car. In view of this, many luxury car manufacturers of the world are trying hard to corner the market share in the state. At the same time, the state has also become a promising market for pre-owned premium cars. However, no authorised platform is available for purchase of pre-owned high end cars in Gujarat. Therefore, we have decided to enter in the segment," said Rustam Cama, executive director, Cama Motors, adding that initially the company will focus on Mercedes brand only and eventually all the other big brands such as BMW and Audi will be made available.

The firm, which is a dealer of Mercedes Benz car in Gujarat, will also start a service station for repair and maintenance of all the leading brands. Giving more details about this facility, Cama said, "Though we are authorised dealer for Mercedes brand, our engineers are familiar with technologies used in other luxury cars, too. So, we will open a workshop for all the premium cars and import machineries for this facility from the gulf countries.

Portal for pre-owned car launched

A web portal - Biggaddi.com, meant for dealings in used cars, has been launched from Ahmedabad. Through this portal one can easily sell or buy pre-owned cars across India. Moreover, it will also help by offering services of offline franchise and collection network. In the initial stage, the network is available in Gujarat only and the company has tied up with 45 dealers in Gujarat for the purpose.
