Main BBC channels to be available live online
London, Nov 20: From next week, web visitors will be able to watch BBC shows including ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’, ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Heroes’ as they are broadcast, the network has announced.
BBC has announced that it will start simulcasting some of its shows online as they debut over-the-air.
The move will bring the BBC One and BBC Two channels online in fully streamable forms, joining several — BBC Three, BBC Four, CBBC, Cbeebies, and BBC News — that are already broadcasting both online and on-air.
Jana Bennett, director of BBC vision, said that this "completes our commitment" to make channels available online.
In case viewers miss any shows, they will be available for up to a week on the BBC iPlayer.
"From 27 November licence fee payers will be able to watch BBC programmes live wherever they are in the UK on their computers, mobile phones and other portable devices," BBC quoted Bennett, as saying. (ANI)
