Frankfurt - German football authorities are to take no action against Borussia Dortmund defender Marcel Schmelzer for an incident in involving Hoffenheim midfielder Tobias Weis.

Anton Nachreiner, chairman of the German football federation's control panel, said Tuesday there was no evidence of serious unsporting behaviour by the player in the goalless Bundesliga match on Saturday.

Kabul - A trainer and three members of an Afghan youth football team who were training for an upcoming regional competition have disappeared from their hotel in Germany, officials said Tuesday.

The 18 players of the national under-18 team, two trainers and two government officials had gone to the south-western German city of Stuttgart February 8 for two weeks of training to prepare for a regional competition to be held in Iran later this year.

Nagpur, Mar 3 : In the wake of Tuesday's terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked New Zealand Cricket (NZC) to provide additional security to the Indian team.

Berlin - Lance Armstrong will return to Europe later this month to continue his comeback season with races at Milan-San Remo and Spain's Vuelta a Castilla y Leon, his Astana team has confirmed.

Armstrong will ride the Milan-San Remo spring classic on March 21 before competing in Spain where he will race with co-captain Alberto Contador and where Astana say the American will focus on the time trial and two mountaintop finishes.

The decision means the seven-time Tour de France winner will not race in the Tour of Flanders one-day classic.
