Shourya missile system successfully test fired

Defence Research and Development OrganisationNew Delhi, Nov 12 : The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) today successfully flight-tested state-of-art 600 km range canisterised surface-to-surface missile system named ‘Shourya’.

The missile was test fired from ITR Balasore in Orissa at 11:25 a. m. This developmental flight trial of Shourya missile system is a part of ongoing technology development work undertaken by DRDO.

The Missile system has a unique feature of simplicity of operation and maintenance.

BIMSTEC Foreign Ministers preparing greater trade, connectivity agenda ahead of summit

New Delhi, Nov. 12: Foreign Ministers of the seven member countries of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) are currently meeting in the Indian capital to prepare the agenda for the one-day summit meeting of the grouping to be held here on Thursday.

Informed sources said the focus of Wednesday''s meeting would be to look for ways to enhance trade and promote greater connectivity between India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Thailand.
