Tom Cruise admits to having made mistakes as he makes a comeback

Tom Cruise admits to having made mistakes as he makes a comebackLondon, Nov 25: American actor Tom Cruise has admitted that he has made some mistakes in the past, and that he could have handled certain things better.

The actor’s stellar Hollywood career had begun to crumble when his behaviour started becoming more and more erratic, which even cost him the support of his fans.

Cruise’s image in the public’s eyes went down even further after he announced that he would eat his baby’s placenta, and also for slamming actress Brooke Shields for using anti-depressants.

The final nail in the coffin came when Paramount Studios axed its unique 14-year deal, and when he had to take a pay cut for Mission: Impossible 3.

However, after two years, the Top Gun star, who is married to Katie Holmes, 29, and has a daughter with her, now feels back in control.

“There are things that I could have done better. I could have handled things better,” the Mirror quoted him as confessing during an interview held in his suite at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

“I was surprised at the criticism but it brought everyone closer together: Katie’s entire family and my family.

“Going through that stuff is not pleasant and I think it hit an extreme, but Kate’s a very sure and confident and strong woman. She gets it, you know.

“She is incredibly wise and very, very strong and confident, even though she is a very gracious and elegant person.

“As a father and a husband you want to protect your family and tell them not to worry because it is all going to be OK. You just learn from it and move on and I know that.

“I have a blessed life because I have a happy family and children that I adore and everyone knows how I feel about Kate. It just brought us even closer together,” he added.

Cruise, 46, has three children, two-year-old biological daughter, Suri, from Holmes, daughter Bella, 15, and son Connor, 13, he and Nicole Kidman adopted during their marriage. (ANI)
