1,000 Slumdog... CDs seizedThe Pune rural police on Sunday afternoon raided two music centres in Manikbaug on Sinhgad Road and seized 14,293 pirated compact discs (CDs) of Hindi and Hollywood films including 1,000 pirated copies of Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire.

The police arrested the owners of the music centres and two other employees. Superintendent of police (Pune rural) Ravindra Kadam confirmed the seizure of 1,000 pirated copies of Slumdog Millionaire.

Three VCD players, four DVD writers, duplicate card reader and computers worth Rs78.50 lakh have also been confiscated. The arrested shop owners have been identified as Sandeep Gehlot (23) and Balu Ingawale (26), both residents of Manikbaug while the employees have been identified as Bala Khedekar (22) of Manikbaug and Mallikarjun Mane of Vadgaon Budruk.

A police team headed by police inspector Bhausaheb Andhalkar and police sub-inspector Vilas Patil raided the music stores after members of India's Copyright Investigation lodged a complaint with them.

The police also seized 43 prints of pornography movies. The suspects have been booked under the Copyright Act, 1957.
