London, Dec 14 : Amy Winehouse's incarcerated hubby Blake Fielder-Civil was offered 5,000 pounds to find a hitman to kill her drug dealer, according to his mother.

"He said a man close to Amy offered him 5,000 pounds to find a hitman to remove a certain dealer from Amy's life," News of the World quoted Georgette Civil, as saying.

However, Blake, who was in London's Pentonville for GBH and perverting justice, refused, said Georgette.

"He told the man: `No way. You're mad.' He's since received threatening messages from the same man and fears he may turn the tables on him. He has to be very careful in prison and needs to be protected," she said.

Georgette went to cops and named the singer's dealer and the alleged plotter.

"Blake doesn't want to shop him or the dealer, that's why I alerted police. They told me that if Blake was a reluctant witness they would notify the Prison Governor immediately," she said.

"And I've got to be careful because I've got children and I don't want to get myself murdered," she added.

The Met Police confirmed they had received information naming Amy's dealer and detailing a plot to kill her dealer.

A spokesman said: "We are assessing the information." (ANI)
