Anil Ambani’s media and entertainment foray is getting bigger day-by-day.

This time, the Anil Ambani group, one of the country's top business houses, has signed up a star-studded joint venture contract with Big B and his other family members to work together to make original products in the field of movies, TV, internet, mobile and live shows.

The Ambani group described Bollywood Shahenshah as “the living legend of Indian movie industry,” his other family members including his wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Bachchan also figure among the big stars.

The JV comes just after the Ambani group inked various deals with Hollywood actors and directors for film production coupled with its investment in Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks SKG.

While announcing JV with Bachchans family, Reliance Big Entertainment said it will look at different areas including movies, live shows, TV, internet and mobile entertainment.

“This JV will bring together the creative synergies of all members of the Bachchan family -- Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek and Aishwarya,” it said.

“Reliance Big Entertainment will provide managerial resources, market strength and distribution muscle to this JV,” it noted.

Directors including Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Rohan Sippy, Sujoy Ghosh and R Balakrishnan (Balki) have been signed for films under the new JV.

While announcing the deal, Big B said, “I look upon this association as a progressive step towards the future and a healthy marriage between creative output and professional corporate management.”

Wing commander P Ramesh, CEO of A B Corp, said, “Four directors have been short listed for projects which will go on floors beginning from the end of this year. Few other projects are at consideration stage and will be announced shortly.”

In terms of creative input and finance, Reliance Big Entertainment and AB Corp are equal partners, Ramesh added.

When asked whether the Bachchans would be acting in the movie, Ramesh said, “Bachchan senior will feature in Dwivedi and Ghosh's films while Abhishek will act in Sippy's film. Both, Abhishek and Amitabh will be seen together in Balki's film.”

Moreover, Ghosh is signing Abhishek for his upcoming film, he added.

Reliance Big Entertainment said that the JV is in line with its strategy to affiliate with top Indian as well as international creative talent for altering itself into a global media and entertainment company.
