Washington, Mar 13: Anna Nicole Smith''s boyfriend, attorney and two doctors were charged Thursday with conspiring to give her prescription drugs before she died in 2007, the Los Angeles District Attorney''s office said in a press release.
Howard K. Stern, the boyfriend, and doctors Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich were charged with conspiracy for giving controlled substances to Smith from June 5, 2004 to Jan. 26, 2006, reports Fox News.
Also, Stern was once involved in a custody battle over Smith''s daughter, Dannielynn.
Arraignment dates for the defendants have not yet been scheduled.
Doctors Kapoor and Eroshevich were charged with acquiring a prescription for opiates by "fraud, deceit or misrepresentation" and were also charged with obtaining a prescription for opiates by giving a false name or address.
Kapoor and Stern were charged with "prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict."
Smith, 39, was pronounced dead February 8 after being found unconscious in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood, Florida.
The former Playboy playmate and reality TV star died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
At the time of her death, several prescription medications – both in Smith''s and Stern''s names – were found in the room. (ANI)
