Autism – a touch sensitive problem

Human-BrainA deficiency in the brain explains why many people suffering from autism avoid touching and hugs - even from their siblings or parents.

The problem occurs in people with Fragile X Syndrome, a cause for autism and inherited mental retardation.

Scientists have also discovered that procrastinated development of sensory cortex (region pertaining to touch) is an aftermath of Fragile X. Fragile X is a result of mutation in Female X chromosome Affection the construction of synapses (gap between neuron via which message is transmitted). Males are affected in a serious manner as they possess two X chromosomes and thus the chances of having autism is more in guys than girls (have Y chromosome instead)

Individuals who suffer from this syndrome are likely to be affected by "tactile defensiveness" and become socially withdrawn. This finding is an aid to resolve the problem pertaining to child development.
