BBMP issues public notice about DLF's South Bangalore project

DLF Building IndiaThe proposed 'Westend Heights' complex of the real estate bigwig DLF Limited, in South Bangalore, appears to have run into troubled waters! The state-owned body Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has issued a public notice in newspapers, cautioning the people against investment in the complex located in New Town, DLF BTM Extension.

As per the public announcement by BBMP, asking the public to refrain from booking apartments in the mentioned DLF complex, the authorities said that the company had not sought due approval for the 18-storey complex comprising 1,980 dwelling-units.

Referring to DLF's April 26-dated advertisement announcing the commencement of bookings in the apartments, BBMP said that the company had mentioned only four floors, as it has received the Bangalore Development Authority's approval for only those many floors.

Saying that the illegally-constructed apartments will not get the no-objection certificate (NOC), S Subramanya - the BBMP Commissioner - said: "The company has not even applied for the approvals and to assume that they will get all clearances is like fooling the public."

Clarifying its position, DLF said: "DLF has obtained due approval for the development plan through its subsidiary company, Annabel Builders and Developers, for S+4 level from BDA for the project Westend Heights. Construction on the project will commence only after obtaining detailed plan approval from BBMP and other relevant clearances, for which application is in process."
