Bhatt’s ‘Jannat’ To Hit Both Indian & Pakistani Theatres By May 16

Ace Bollywood producer Mukesh Bhatt, who postponed the release of his Jannatambitious venture ‘Jannat’ by two weeks, is ready to hit cinemas in India and Pakistan simultaneously on May 13.

Initially Jannat was slated to be released on May 2, a week after the release of Bhoothnath on May 9.

Before its release, ‘Jannat’ is doing well as advance booking has started for the Indian film. The movie has already registered its name in the records as the first movie to be screened in both Pakistan as well as India.

Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, ‘Jannat’ tells a love story of a guy who wants to keep his girl friend happy in whatever way. So he adopts illegal means to earn money. He gets involved in betting and match-fixing racket in cricket, only to end up in a mess he can’t get out of.

Emraan Hashmi, who earlier said ‘No’ to kiss scenes, after he got married, seems to have broken the promise this time and has enacted a few intimate sequences with leading lady Sonal Chauhan.

Hammad Raza, the manager of Cinepax cinema in nearby Rawalpindi, said, “We are anxious about the movie and there is advance booking for it.”

Mr. Raza also said that the music of the film had already become popular and this would be the first time that a film would be released simultaneously across the border.

“We believe that it will draw huge crowds because it's related to cricket and will be screened when the IPL will be at its peak,” said Mr. Raza.

Ironically, CD sellers are also expecting excellent business.

A CD distributor in Islamabad stated, “It will be illegal but the movie will be available at many shops," said.

He also told that he had already got the master print for those who didn’t want to take the trouble of going to the cinema hall.

Songs from the movie are already available in the Pakistani market.

Wajih Hussain, who sells music in Islamabad, said, “The music of Jannat is selling well, but not to our expectation.”

Emraan is already popular in Pakistan and has featured in various TV ads being telecast by different television channels.

In one commercial for a mobile phone company, he said, “Now its my time to shine in Pakistan.” That may be true indeed.

After Jannat, Mr. Bhatt will work on another ambitious venture, Raaz—The Mystery Continues.
