Bharti Airtel, India's leading integrated telecom company, has entered into an innovation and technology partnership with IT giant Infosys Technologies Ltd (Infosys), to offer cutting-edge interactive applications to the customers of Airtel digital TV - its DTH TV service.

As part of its Digital Convergence Platform, Infosys will provide a suite of products including devices, application servers and interactive applications that will concentrate on providing an enhanced digital lifestyle to Airtel digital TV customers.

Anil Ambani managed Reliance Communications, country’s second biggest wireless operator, has announced a mobile plan christened ‘Rs 550 Jaadu Pack’ that is set to re-define the mobile telephony market in Indian market. 

With this newly introduced plan, pre-paid subscribers with lifetime validity would now be able to make local calls at just 50 paise per minute and STD calls to any phone anywhere in India at just Re 1 for lifetime by making a one-time payment of just Rs 550.

Moser Baer, world's second largest manufacturer of Optical Storage media, has set up a modern digital video processing facility in Chennai. 

The newly opened facility provides real-time video restoration of content, apart from audio restoration, editing, graphics, content repurposing and high quality and high throughput DVD compression and authoring services. 

TATA group consultancy arm, TCS has signed a deal with the external affairs ministry to implement the Passport Seva Project. The project is aimed to speed up the passport issuance process. The government intends to issue new passport within three working days and under TATKAL scheme on the same day.

The government would open 77 new passport filing centers under the project in different locations of the country. The project is expected to complete by the first week of January 2010 in the entire country.

By taking an educational computing initiative, over 5,000 schools in Andhra Pradesh would be assisted by NComputing. The announcement was made by NComputing itself, which further informed that this initiative is being taken with the aim to help nearly 1.8 million children across the state to get computing access.
