Counties rubbish allegations of parallel IPL

Counties rubbish allegations of parallel IPL The counties who met Lalit Modi in India in March during the third season of IPL have said the parallel IPL agenda is baseless and have rubbished the allegations. They have strongly denied of secret talks to set up a parallel IPL in England.

It has been intimated to BCCI by Giles Clarke, the England Cricket Board Chairman that the suspended Chairman and Commissioner of IPL, Lalit Modi is planning to bring a parallel IPL in England with the existing Indian franchisees. They could bid for nine domestic teams in the UK, so these local teams are also involved in such a proposed event. BCCI has received a formal complaint on this issue and it has slapped a second show-cause notice to Modi immediately.

However, the counties have said such things are only speculations and don't have any truth behind them. The Yorkshire Chairman, Colin Graves has informed the Guardian that the fact is totally overblown. He has also said that there were no secret proposals, no secret agenda or nothing like underhand.
