Dannii Minogue Becomes Proud Mom Of A Baby Boy

Australian singer Dannii Minogue, sister of Kylie Minogue, has given birth to her first baby boy on Monday with partner Kris Smith, who is a former rugby player and model. The couple announced Dannii's pregnancy together in January.

Dannii Minogue was planning a delivery at home but she had to be rushed to the hospital following some complications during the home birth of the baby. She was admitted to a public hospital with a fake name to avoid crowds.

The 38-year-old singer gave birth to her first kid Ethan Edward Smith at Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne and both are keeping well. The proud parents welcomed their first baby in Minogue's hometown.

An elated mother Dannii said that she never thought of starting a family until she met her model boyfriend Kris last year. She added, "I always thought I would never have kids. But, now my views have changed, I say to Kris what if I start enjoying motherhood and want to have more?"

Simon Jones, Minogue's spokesman said, "Dannii and Kris Smith are very happy to announce the birth of their son Ethan Edward Smith on July 5. Dad is very proud and both the mother and baby are fine. To adjust as new parents, they have requested for privacy at this special time.

Dannii's sister pop singer Kylie Minogue will soon arrive to meet her nephew as she is busy in a promotional tour for her new album.

A thrilled dad Kris wrote, "I would like to offer our gratitude to all our well wishers on behalf of the three of us."
