Employers optimistic about hiring in next quarter, survey
According to a new survey, the employers in India are displaying optimism about hiring during the next quarter in the country.
The survey conducted by workforce solutions provider Manpower Group, showed that all seven industries covered reported higher staff levels during the second quarter. The survey, which included 5,370 employers from across the country, showed that the employment outlook among employers improved 2 per cent from the previous quarter. On the other hand, the outlook was lower 19 per cent over the previous year.
The survey noted that the highest growth was in transportation and utilities sector, which recorded a employment outlook of 37 per cent. The services sector and the wholesale and retail trade sector also recorded improvement with an outlook of 32 per cent. The outlook in finance, insurance and real estate sector is at 30 cent and for mining and construction sector at 29 per cent.
AG Rao, managing director of ManpowerGroup India said in a statement, "Employers in the North report the strongest regional hiring prospects. In spite of the market downturn and the uncertainty around the economic and political environment in India, employers' hiring intentions remain positive in all seven sectors, primarily driven by ITeS and IT sectors where hiring intentions appears to be improving."
He also said that the job applicants must be prepared for a more rigorous selection process.
