Exiled Tibetan nuns urge Aamir Khan to give Olympic torch relay a miss.

Bollywood actor Aamir KhanDharamsala, Mar 30 : Tibetan nuns living in Dharamsala have staged a hunger strike here, and urged Bollywood actor Aamir Khan to refrain from participating in the Olympic torch relay when it passes through New Delhi.

The Olympic torch relay is scheduled to be held in the national capital on April 17.

"Their appeal to Aamir Khan is that, please support the Tibetan cause and do not carry this torch of shame," said B. Tsering, a Tibetan Woman.

The exiled nuns urged Aamir Khan and other celebrities who are expected to join the relay to skip it and express solidarity with the Tibetans.

"We don't want any Indians to support China because we think that China is not doing good to Tibetan people, and Aamir is a good actor and a good person too, so we don't want Aamir to carry this torch," said Aamo, a nun.

The nuns, who term the torch as a 'torch of shame', say that the India should support them in their 'freedom struggle'.

The Tibetans have been protesting against the alleged Chinese suppression ahead of the August 8 - 24 Beijing Olympic Games. (ANI)
