Gaza crisis: Turkish PM accuses Israel of barbarism that surpasses Hitler

Recep-Tayyip-ErdoganJohannesburg, July 20 : Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed his displeasure over Israel's move to launch a large-scale ground offensive in Gaza, accusing the nation of "barbarism that surpasses Hitler".

According to News 24, Erdogan, who is running for the presidency in elections next month, made the comment during a campaign speech on Saturday in the Black Sea port city of Ordu.

Condemning Israel's ongoing offensive against Hamas militants in Gaza, Erdogan took a strong stand against the country's move.

He also accused Israel of using disproportionate force and has said the operation there has derailed efforts to normalise Turkish-Israeli ties, the report said.

More than 300 Palestinians have been killed during Israel's offensive against Hamas militants in Gaza.

Mass protests have been held outside Israeli diplomatic mission in Ankara and Istanbul in the past few days. (ANI)
