Mar del Plata, Argentina  - A short-circuit caused a small fire Tuesday in the Malvinas Argentinas stadium in the Argentine city of Mar del Plata, that is set to host the Davis Cup final between Argentina and Spain later this week.

Argentina's Juan Martin Del Potro and Jose Acasuso were training when a lamp burst and caught fire. The players stopped their training session for a few minutes, while spectators watching from the stands were evacuated. The incident was soon solved.

Shanghai  - Novak Djokovic has become a massive danger to the 2009 fightback dreams of Roger Federer after the resurgent Serb won the Masters Cup title at the weekend.

Through his 6-1, 7-5 defeat of Nikolay Davydenko at the Qi Zhong stadium, world number three Djokovic has now climbed to within a hair-thin 10 points of the Swiss star, who was knocked out in the group stage at a year-end event for the first time in his career as he lost to Andy Murray.

Shanghai - Novak Djokovic survived 55 unforced errors and missed 11 break points but scratched out a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over Gilles Simon on Saturday to move into the final of the Masters Cup.

Djokovic took treatment in the third set for a left calf muscle pull as he denied the dream of year-end debutant Simon, who claimed the last of the spots in the eight-man field when Rafael Nadal withdrew.

"It's the Masters Cup, best eight players in the world this year are here, it's a huge success for me to reach the final," said the Serb.

"My injury is nothing too serious. It was just cramping because of a lot of running and a lot of rallies we had. So I just had to treat it a little bit in order to end up the match."

New Shanghai - Novak Djokovic survived 55 unforced errors while missing on 11 break points to scratch out a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 win on Saturday into the final of the Masters Cup as he defeated Gilles Simon.

The Serb world number three will await an opponent from Andy Murray and Nikolay Davydenko.

The Scot was hoping for a recovery after spending three hours of drama in defeating Roger Federer 24 hours earlier while Davydenko was relatively rested for his bid at a first year-end final.

Shanghai, Nov. 15 : Britain’s Andy Murray has said that his triumph over Swiss Roger Federer in the quarter-finals of the Masters’ Cup here is as good as winning the title.

Murray who beat Federer 4-6 7-6 7-5 in a minute over three hours, now marches into the semi-finals of the Masters Cup.

Having beaten the Swiss superstar for the third time this year Murray was quoted by The Sun as saying: “It was a great match, probably one of the best I’ve ever been involved in. A win against Federer in a match like that is similar to winning the Masters Cup itself.”

“Psychologically, a win like that is going to be huge for me next time I play him — especially in big matches,” he added.
