Hamburg - Brazilian midfielder Alex Silva will miss the German Bundesliga football restart in late January over a groin injury, his club SV Hamburg said on Saturday.

Hamburg said that Silva, 23, sustained a hernia and will be out of action for up to four weeks. As a result, he misses a January 27 cup match with 1860 Munich and the Bundesliga restart three days later against champions Bayern Munich. (dpa)
