Hotels to get single-point clearance system

Hotels to get single-point clearance systemIn a directive passed by the Cabinet on Monday, it has said that it is mulling over the establishment of a single-point clearance system for new hotel projects.

The move, has been taken so that the setting up of hotel infrastructure across India is faster and easier. The Ministry of Tourism is playing a very important role in the setting up of the new structure.

India is currently facing a huge deficit of hotel rooms and experts believe that this directly impacts the tourism sector in the country.

Talking about the initiation, Kumari Selja, the minister for tourism said during the inauguration of Great India Travel Bazaar, that the Committee of Secretaries has cleared the proposal. And it is expected that the Cabinet will clear it soon as well.

As per the proposal, the hotel companies will have to submit one uniform application about their projects. These applications will be cleared by the committees that will be formed both at the centre as well as the state levels.

The Central Committee will be headed by the Secretary of Tourism and at the state Chief Secretary will be the head.
