ICL: Hyderabad Heroes Beat Mumbai Champs

ICL: Hyderabad Heroes Beat Mumbai ChampsScorching knocks of 88 and 51 by Nicky Boje and Stuart Binny helped Hyderabad Heroes to defeat Mumbai Champs by 79-runs in the ICL 20s Indian Championship match at Tau Devi Lal Stadium.

Batting first, Heroes piled 214 runs, the highest score in the tournament. Chasing this imposing total, Champs could manage only 135 runs losing six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Heroes lost their in-form batsman Abdul Razzak for a duck in the very first over of the innings. Experienced campaigner Jimmy Mehar and young lad Ambatti Rayudu tried to stabilize the innings, but both departed at the same score of 45. Anirudh Singh could also not add too much for his team.

However, the arrival of Binny and Boje at the wicket changed the complexion of the game. Former South African Boje got into the act in the crucial middle overs scoring 18 runs off a Robin Morris over. Binny too joined the party, clobbering 17 runs off Van der Wath's 15th over.

Binny completed his second ICL half century off only 24 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Avinash Yadav finally brought to an end the 92-run partnership for the fifth wicket with the scalp of Binny. Meanwhile, Boje continued his form by hitting the ball with ease. He scored a quick-fir knock of 88 runs off just 49 balls with 8 fours and 5 huge sixes.

Replying to this mammoth total, Mumbai Champs were never really in the reckoning. Expect opener Dhiraj Jadhav (43) no other batsman could not add much to the teams total. The team ended well short of 79 runs from the required target.
