Indian physicist awarded Sydney Peace Prize

Vandana ShivaRenowned Indian physicist and environmentalist Vandana Shiva has been awarded the Sydney Peace Prize for this year. She is the first Indian lady to receive this prestigious award. As per sources, Mrs. Vandana Shiva will receive the award on 4th November. She has been phenomenal in the field of social justice.

Vandana is 57 years old and was born at Dehradun. She is one of the International Forum on Globalisation leader and also associated with the Third World Network.

She is a philosopher, environmentalist, women's activist and author. She has been extraordinary in some issues of the society like the empowerment of women.

Her work on the women empowerment in developing countries has been exceptional. As per a Sydney University release, her advocacy of the human rights of small farming communities has been extremely brilliant. Her analysis of environmental sustainability is equally phenomenal.

She will be receiving the award on 4th of November after delivering her lecture Sydney Opera House on November 3. She will give the City of Sydney Peace Prize lecture that day. On the next evening, she will receive the prize.
