Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza kills one, injures two
Gaza City - An Israeli airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip killed at least one Palestinian and injured two others Tuesday morning, first aid officials said.
They said the fatality was a minor, and the two injured were also civilian bystanders.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said the airstrike targeted a squad of militants who had just fired three Gaza-produced rockets at the Israeli town of Sderot.
One of the rockets landed within the Gaza Strip, but the other two struck in Sderot, including a residential neighbourhood, she said.
The spokeswoman said the Israel Air Force identified hitting the squad of militants. (dpa)
