Jain Irrigation plans to setup a manufacturing hub in Tamil Nadu

Jain Irrigation plans to setup a manufacturing hub in Tamil NaduJain Irrigation, one of the largest micro-irrigation systems manufacturers in the world, plans to establish a manufacturing hub for micro-irrigation systems, PVC Pipes and fruit processing in Tamil Nadu to cater to the Southern States and the export market.

The company has pumped over Rs 65 crore at the facility and plans to invest over Rs 100 crore, which would include facilities to expand production of drip irrigation
equipment and fruit processing facilities.

The company is presently increasing its capacity for whole range of plastic products and the R&D for farming systems for a range of horticulture crops at the 1,250-acre facility.

Jain Irrigation, which bought the property in mid-2005, has capacity to produce over 12 tonnes irrigation pipes daily, 4.5 tonnes of ducts for OFC cables, and about 22 tonnes of PVC pipes for conveying water and has an extensive R&D facility.

The company claims that the latest expansion programme is to make the Udumalpet unit an agro-industrial complex catering to markets in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and southern parts of Andhra Pradesh.
