Verona (New York), Oct 5  Jeev Milkha Singh took a big step towards securing his card for the PGA Tour next year with a solid tied seventh place finish at the Turning Stone Resort Championship. Jeev, riding a brilliant bogey-free 64 finished at 14-under.

At the top Matt Kuchar and Vaugh Taylor were tied at 17-under. Neither managed to win after two holes of a sudden-death playoff Sunday. They birdied the first extra hole, parred the second before play was suspended, and will resume play on Monday on the 13th tee for the $1.08 million top prize.

Arjun Atwal shot a three-under 69 to finish tied 42nd at seven-under.

Jeev Milkha Singh shot a flawless eight-under 64 with six birdies and an eagle to catapult to tied seventh, his best finish since the fourth place in World Golf Championships earlier this year.

"It was one of the best weeks I have had. I had just two bogeys in four days and none in last two rounds," said Jeev, who went bogey-free for the last 45 holes of the event. His last bogey came on the ninth on second day and the only other one was the 11th on the first.

"It felt good to have most parts of the game come together nicely," said Jeev, whose top-10 finish will go a long way in sealing his PGA Tour card for 2010.

Jeev started with a birdie on second and then sank an eagle two on the third. Birdies on seventh and ninth saw him finish at five-under for the front stretch. He added birdies on 10th, 13th and 14th to go eight-under. (IANS)
