Zoya Akhtar's directorial debut LUCK BY CHANCE is based on the film industry and its dark side. Farhan Akhtar and Konkona Sen Sharma play lead role in the film.  

This movie is not meant for lovers of typical Bollywood masala movie. However intelligent viewers can like it as an Art film. The movie represents various issues related to film industry like exploitation of aspiring actors and actresses by producers and directors, broken dreams, struggle, false hopes etc.

The movie is slow in the beginning but it starts rolling when a friendship is struck between Konkona and Farhan. Konkona plays the role of struggling actress who is living in a false hope a break offered by a producer. Farhan plays the role of Vikram Jaisingh, a theatre actor, has moved from Delhi to Mumbai to work in bolywood movies.  

Other actors in the movie are Isha Sharvani, Dimple Kapadia, Rishi Kapoor, Aly Khan, and Sanjay Kapoor. Hrithik gives a guest appearance in the film.
