Malaysian state to set up college to promote Indian culture

Johor, Feb 11 : The Malaysia Indian Congress (MIC) Youth Deputy President R. Vidyanathan has said that a college to promote Indian culture and arts will soon be established.

Speaking at the release of the telemovie Deiva Priya, produced by Malaysian Indian Artistes Association president K. Palanisamy here, Vidyanathan said the college could assist local artistes to improve on their performance and ensure training for aspiring artistes.

"The performance of local artistes were comparable to those from South India," he said.

The Star quoted him as saying they could become better if they were given more support and encouragement. (ANI)
